Raving Mad Hatter's Tea Party

Dec. 20th, 2008 | 05:39 pm

This month my friend, boyfriend & I held a joint birthday party & we themed it as a Raving Mad Hatter's Tea Party. This meant lots & lots of glitter and bright colours, as well as teapots, playing cards, lanterns, etc. Oh & everyone had to wear a hat!

& of course, I made cakes!

We had a big table of cakes & macaroons (sadly I didn't make the macaroons but I will learn!)

Hawaiian cupcakes

Oct. 3rd, 2008 | 06:56 pm

For a sunshiney themed birthday. I'm really pleased with how they turned out :]

& moreCollapse )

I tried to make the grooves on the palm trees, but then smudged them when I placed them on the cakes, which was annoying! But oh well, I still think sugar palm trees are cute. Everything is edible, except the umbrellas.

p.s. I cannot wait for halloween! I have such fun cupcake plans.

I made sushi cupcakes for my Dad's birthday (he's a fan of all things japanese). They looked like this:

So I have not posted in AGES! But here's a few of the cupcakes I have been making lately :]

hello cupcake!Collapse )
Giant glitter letters & edible handbags & shoes are DEFINITELY my favourite. Gosh, I'm such a girly cupcake girl!

I'm a bit fed up of doing well-behaved swirly cupcakes, I want to put glitter on EVERYTHING.

Good news though - I have just put an order in for the first lot of ever so sweet merch! (www.eversosweet.co.uk). There's going to be really cute badges & mirrors! I'm excited :]

drip drip drop little april showers

Apr. 5th, 2008 | 06:17 pm

So it's April now and every month ever so sweet has a new cupcake of the month. The last couple of months were so easy - february was valentines & march was easter. Easyyy. But what happens in April? Nothing! (this may not actually be true, but nothing I could think of).

Then hooorah hoorah I got the little april showers song in my head (from Bambi, it's lovely & you can listen here) and my drip drip drop little april showers cupcakes were born!

& close ups..Collapse )

garden cupcakes

Mar. 31st, 2008 | 10:20 pm

So it was my niece's 3rd birthday & she really wanted butterfly cakes. I decided to make a garden theme & made some bees & ducks (for the garden pond).

Also, this gave me an excuse to play with my new glitter, which went everywhere, but was SO bright it was worth it.

& more...Collapse )

& my niece seemed to really like them, hoorah!

& oh, they were vanilla, strawberry & butterscotch :]

animal cupcakes

Mar. 23rd, 2008 | 07:28 pm

So I've been trying to teach myself how to model icing animals & it's fun!

I made an elephant, a giraffe and a rooster. Cause they would hang out together, that makes sense! Then I obviously had to make cakes for them to sit upon so I went with vanilla, chocolate, butterscotch, mint choc chip, raspberry and cherry cupcakes.

& originally I had said 'oh I'll just quickly make 12 vanilla cakes!'. Gosh, talk about getting carried away.

& moreCollapse )

I'm a bit attached. I don't want to eat them :(

cupcakes on film!

Feb. 19th, 2008 | 10:10 pm

So a few weeks ago I launched my cupcake company Ever So Sweet!

The launch was filmed for an online programme called Bite who have named us one of their trends of the week!

If you'd like to watch the programme you can see it here:

or on www.channel4.com/bite !

The cake part is the last trend of the programme, so skip to the end if you don't fancy watching clowns!

It's so exciting :]
